How it works
You sail out of South Addison aboard Polaris Jack, past the lobster fleet and the outer ledges, to an island with nobody on it. The captain builds a driftwood fire on the beach and lets it burn down to coals while you hike the ledges, comb the beach, or do absolutely nothing.
Then lobsters and clams, both fresh daily, go on the fire. Butter melts in a cast-iron pan at the edge of the coals. You eat on warm granite with the tide moving below you. It's Downeast terroir at its finest.
Afterward, you sail home in the afternoon light. About five hours, all told.
